PE to make it light weight.
This plate is designed to achieve NIJ Level III protection and is a PLUS
plate. PLUS plates are designed to stop ballistic threats using the plate along
with an existing vest.A ballistic vest is required, as all the energy and
fragments are stopped in the plate combined with the vest. These plates are
ight weight at 3.7 lbs for easy carry.
This plate is designed to be used to withstand 7.62x39 mm AK 47 MSC bullets
with nominal masses of 16.4 g (253gr) impacting at a minimum velocity of 710
m/s (2329 ft/s); 7.62x51 mm M80 Full Metal Jacketed (FMJ) bullets.
